Baby Cake Smash Session: 

Cake

You can use whatever cake you like for the cake smash, but you may also want to purchase a smaller cake for the smash session, which is more manageable.  I recommend avoiding red icing or some other color that could resemble blood when the baby start smashing and eating the cake, may not be the look you want me to capture.  Decorations on the cake can add to the overall affect and fun for the baby.  The decorations on the cake can enhance the experience for your baby and the photos we take.  Decoration and bright icing colors also help to keep the baby interested in smashing and playing with the cake, which also helps to enhance the whole experience for you and the baby.   

The Props

Please bring two outfits for your baby if you plan on having the baby cake smash session.  The first outfit we can use for the portrait session and the second outfit we can use for the baby cake smash session.  You may want to expose the baby to the cake smashing concept prior to the photo session.  Some times baby are a little overwhelmed by the concept and than warm up to it.  If you are interested in warming your baby up to the cake smashing concept just simply purchase a small cake and set them down or in a highchair.

  The clean up
 It can get really mess.Your baby will definitely need a bath after, and you might also! Be prepared to bring extra towels and wipes to clean up your baby after the session. If your baby has a fever or is not feeling well on the day of the session, then it needs to be rescheduled. I will not get good results and good smiles if your baby isn't feeling well. Just put the cake into freezer for safe keeping. Take it out of the freezer with enough time to let it thaw prior to the next session.
